Today for a tomorrow worth living. How innovations can contribute to a climate-neutral future was demonstrated by SECONTRADE and other pioneers in climate and environmental protection at exciting events – from interactive innovation hubs to international panel discussions.

Whether in research, the construction industry or for the liveable smart city – circular economy affects us all. “In order for the realignment of the economic system to succeed, the exchange of knowledge and experience among relevant actors is crucial. Only through this, the concept of the circular economy can be rapidly implemented”, emphasises SECONTRADE Managing Director Brigitte Reich. SECONTRADE therefore promotes the exchange of new ideas and forward-looking technologies – most recently at numerous events.

The positive aspects and benefits of the circular economy were also the focus of a lecture organised by motivated students of the Vienna University of Economics and Business on May 16th. Alongside innovative companies such as Siemens, OVM and thinkubator.earth, Brigitte Reich and Katharina Mitsch gave an insight into the work of the B2B trading platform and supported the students in developing their own solutions for a circular future.

Building sustainably at the „VZI Climate Night“

On June 5th, “World Environment Day”, the “VZI – Verband der Ziviltechniker und Ingenieure” invited to the international gala “European Climate Night”. The aim was to show best practices for a sustainable building industry and to promote dialogue between clients and innovative companies. In the run-up to the event, 9 pioneers were awarded prizes to present their solutions for a sustainable planning and construction industry at the international gala. SECONTRADE was selected by a top-class jury and presented the digital marketplace at the event.

Pathways to the Climate-Neutral City of the Future

Brigitte Reich participated in the panel discussion “Going Circular” as part of the “Smart City SuMMit” organized by the Vienna Business Agency, where she discussed the vision of the livable city in the future. The focus was on products and services that are particularly resource-efficient and low in CO2 emissions, including SECONTRADE, the digital marketplace for trading secondary raw materials in Austria and Europe. The event took place on June 6th at the Climate Lab in Vienna as part of the international business festival ViennaUP’23.

“With SECONTRADE, we can and want to actively contribute to a thriving circular economy. The interactive exchange and the high level of interest in our digital marketplace have shown us how crucial sustainable business practices are across industries”, Brigitte Reich summarized the past events.
