SECONTRADE, Europe’s first online marketplace for secondary commodity trading, has made a successful start and is expanding its online operations.

Secontrade.com is the first internet-based B2B platform for suppliers and buyers of secondary raw materials from all over Europe. The innovative online platform helps recycling companies and commodity traders to find suitable customers or suppliers and to trade secondary raw materials easily, quickly and safely.

Story of success. Since its launch in January 2018, 140 users from 12 countries registered with SECONTRADE. “Recycling material worth 2.3 million euros was processed on secontrade.com in the first eight months. This makes our online platform Europe’s largest digital marketplace for secondary raw materials,” said Robert Töscher, responsible for finance, highly satisfied with the development of SECONTRADE. “And this despite the fact that the reservations regarding digitalisation in the waste industry are still very high,” says Töscher.

SECONTRADE takes customer wishes seriously. Feedback has led to some interesting new features that have already been implemented: “In order to better respond to the current supply and demand situation in the commodities market, we have integrated an adjustable raw material alert. Now, our users automatically receive notifications when their required materials are available on SECONTRADE,” says Brigitte Reich, responsible for communications and sales, describing one of the innovations. “Also the new market overview is worth a visit. Here, our users always keep an eye on key price indices.”

Many ideas for the future. With many years of experience in the field of the “analog” recycling industry, the initiator Marion Mitsch sees even more potential for the future of the platform: “SECONTRADE has opened up a completely new environment for the team. We look forward to developing future tools with our customers.”

About SECONTRADE:
secontrade.com is a European marketplace for secondary raw materials based in Vienna. With just a few clicks, registered users can exploit the entire raw materials potential on the European market. Secure internet technology provides for an innovative and risk-free trade in raw materials.
Secontrade GmbH was founded in early 2018 on the initiative of UFH and its Managing Director Mag. Marion Mitsch as a subsidiary of UFH Holding GmbH. With the digital raw material marketplace the UFH closes the circle of its previous activities as a collection and treatment system for WEEE and batteries and operator of a recycling plant for cooling appliances, so that valuable secondary raw materials are reintroduced faster and the circular economy is promoted.
