“All together now” – this was the motto of the 36th ÖGUT Annual Reception with Federal Minister for Climate Action Leonore Gewessler on 4 May 2023. Six pioneers in climate and environmental activities were awarded the ÖGUT Environmental Award for their engagement. SECONTRADE was nominated for the award in the category “World Without Waste”.

In order to solve the most urgent challenges of our time, everyone needs to work together. This was pointed out by Federal Minister for Climate Action Leonore Gewessler, ÖGUT President Andrea Reithmayer and ÖGUT Secretary-General Monika Auer in their opening speeches at the awards ceremony at this year’s ÖGUT Annual Reception.

Dialogue on sustainable solutions

The event offered the ideal platform for exchange, networking and dialogue on sustainable solutions – from the circular economy to the importance of secondary raw materials for a stable national economy. Awards were given to leaders in climate and environmental protection and best practices from business, administration, politics and society.

Submissions at record high

Already in the run-up to the event, more than 138 projects in six categories were submitted for the ÖGUT Environmental Award – a new record that showed: solutions for a sustainable future are more important than ever. From “Pioneers in Environmental Technology” to “Research and Innovation for the Circular Economy” to “World Without Waste”, a top-class jury of experts from business, politics and administration nominated the best solutions for the ÖGUT award ceremony on 4 May 2023 – including SECONTRADE, the B2B trading platform for high-quality secondary raw materials.

SECONTRADE has convinced the jury

The digital marketplace was one of three companies nominated for the award in the category “World Without Waste”. In this category, the jury of experts selected companies that are working in practice to reduce the amount of waste in production and have develop solutions for tomorrow’s manufacturing.

Thus SECONTRADE was able to prevail from a large number of submissions. The jury was convinced by the central offer of different waste streams on a transregional level. The appealing digital and mobile appearance of the marketplace was also impressive. They reflect the clear values of SECONTRADE. In addition to the online trading platform, the dissemination of knowledge about the recycling of raw materials and the circular economy is another focus of the company.

The SECONTRADE team is proud and pleased about the nomination and the recognition as a positive example from practice.
