Commodity plastics, and our daily companion
Polystyrene is produced by polymerisation of styrene. The most common use is the well-known plastic foam. Due to the specific properties of expandable polystyrene (EPS), complex moulded parts can also be produced. Polystyrene can be used for the thermal insulation of buildings –and also for ski helmets for that matter.
Recycling process for polystyrene
Shredded polystyrene waste is transformed to polystyrene regranulate. EPS waste is normally ground and freed from dust and subsequently used as EPS granulate for filling and for recycling boards.
